How to select a different PHP version under Plesk (Linux)

Difficulty: Intermediate

  • Plesk admin access.
  • Multiple PHP versions already installed

If you've installed the multiple PHP versions for your Plesk server, you can now set the different interpreter versions per website / domain. This article will step you through the process of selecting a specific version for your website.

Please see the revised article for Plesk Onyx here

  1. Login to Plesk as the admin user.
  2. From Domains, select the website you want to change the PHP for.
  3. Click on the Hosting Settings beside the website name:
    Plesk 12 - Hosting Settings
  4. Under Web scripting and statistics, select the PHP version you want to use:
Plesk 12 - Select PHP Version

Note: You'll also need to ensure you have FastCGI selected.
  5. Click OK and this setting will be applied to your website.

We highly recommend testing all functionality of your website when changing PHP versions and also checking the error logs to see if there are any errors.
